Commercial Stair Lifts
Commercial grade stair lifts include motorized inclined platform lifts or seats that travel over a flight of stairs to carry people from one floor to another. They can be installed on the right or left side of the stair. While they have internal switches to allow the rider to operate the lift, they also have wall-mounted call-send controls at the top and bottom of the stairs, which can be independently used. The heavy-duty AC motor usually runs off a standard electrical outlet and is powerful enough to carry a load of up to 500 pounds up to 20 feet of stairs at a speed of 20 feet per minute. Generally, a commercial stair lift fitted with a platform can accommodate not only wheelchair users, but individuals using ambulatory aides such as canes, crutches and walkers as well. |
